On Monday, Professor Hollan stopped by our weekly on campus meeting and evaluated our progress with some helpful comments/suggestions. Later that day I finished, refined, and printed out the sequence models for users three and four and emailed them to Elisa to look over.
Tuesday night we met at Zach's place and extracted (from our interpretation session notes) any significant problems or comments from the users and wrote them each on a post-it. After we had finished going through all of the users, we began posting and organizing them on the wall until we saw some categories start to form (and reform…).
On Wednesday, I helped in starting the consolidation of the sequence models and we came up with a summary of the sequence models for users one through five, and nine.
This coming Monday we will meet again at

The Butterfly's Contribution
For this week I created a sequence model for user 6, helped create the affinity diagram, and helped consolidate a flow model.
The sequence model was pretty simple to make because I and another member interviewed user 6. During the interview, I tooks notes of most of the actions of the user. My notes were a written "history" of which sites the user visited as well as comments and side notes that I thought was important.
In making the affinity diagram, I reviewed one of the user's file and recorded notable problems and frustrations on a post-it. When everyone finished making post its, we began organizing similar post-its across all users together. This helped us identify major areas of website design as well as many problems users suffer from.
With the completion of the affinity diagram, our group began consolidation. I worked with Zach to consolidate a flow model. We focused on the transfer of information between users, with a website acting as a "middle man"
This upcoming week, I plan on making a major contribution for the presentation. It will give me a chance to work on my public speaking skills.

Week 6
So far: interviewed 9 users.
Created a flow model, cultural model for each user.
Need to do physical models of each. We've decided to take screenshots of each of the main websites the users seemed to respond to the most. Of course, this is just a suggestion. We don't have to do ALL of them. Only the most important ones we feel is useful.

Friday, Sunday, and Monday Meets
Today, Prof. Hollan came to our weekly meeting:) He gave us some advice on how we can proceed from where we are now. As of now, we have user data, some work models, and a general sense of our users and their problems and some design ideas. Consolidating all this data will hopefully give us a better understanding of the problems that come across our users and other issues that will help re-define our focus. We also disscussed other times to meet this week to finish up work models and start consolidating all the user data.
Sunday, May 6
On Sunday, interpretation sessions of interviews were finished and we continued to work on work models for each user, mostly focused on flow and cultural models. We asked a TA/Prof. to join our meeting on monday.
Friday, May 5
This past week we conducted more interviews and met on friday to conduct interpretation sessions of those interviews. We also started to make various work models, such as the sequence models.
